K-12 Outreach Committee - Jane Tran is an alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley, and a Design Engineer with Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM). She is currently working on aerial structure analysis and design for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project. Her past projects include structural design of other transportation infrastructure projects such as the San Jose BART Extension, the LAX Modernization Project, and the California High Speed Rail. She has been actively involved in ASCE since 2008 and currently serves as the YMF Secretary and MLAB-YMF K-12 Outreach Co-Chair. |

Pat Nicholson, P.E. |
Pat is a Senior Project Manager at AECOM in Los Angeles. He led the design of such notable design-build projects as the Metro Gold Line extension to both Pasadena and East Los Angeles. His current assignment is the Empire Avenue Grade Separation and I-5 widening in Burbank, for Metrolink and Caltrans. Pat attended Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia Canada and Cal State Long Beach. Pat has present papers a various conferences; most notably the ASCE International Engineering and Construction Conference. |

Julia grew up in the Chicago suburb of Wheaton, IL. She completed undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering and
Spanish at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has worked as a Civil Engineering Associate for the
City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering since graduating in 2005. Julia currently serves as the Bureau's Liaison
to the City Council. Her hobbies include arts and crafts, karaoke, softball, and volunteering.
Erik Hoffman was born in Santa Monica, CA. At 17 he joined the Army on Active Duty; he served as a Combat Engineer for
four years serving in Kosovo. Erik then joined the National Guard while attending Arizona State University (ASU);
graduating in 2005. He has worked for the State of Arizona, Aztec Engineering, The Department of Health, Carter Burgess
and Jacobs; in addition to being an ASCE practitioner advisor to ASU. Erik is a professional engineer in the state of
CA and a LEED AP; he currently resides in Los Angeles and heads a Construction Management Company. He also works with
the Professional Engineer and Land Surveyors Board to draft the Special Civil Engineering tests for the State of California.
Erik has been a chair for the MLAB YMF Student Night and Job Fair for two years in addition to being an active member
of the GAC since 2008.
Ayokunle Ogunrinde is currently working with HDR Inc as a Senior Bridge Engineer. His experience includes design of bridges, buildings and other structures. Aside from his structural analysis and design experience, as a junior engineer he occasionally participated in condition inspection of bridges. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle. He joined ASCE in 2000 as a student member.
Kaitlin works as a Staff Engineer for Kennedy/Jenks Consultants in Los Angeles. Her experience with Kennedy/Jenks for the past year and a half has been focused on pipeline and reservoir design, urban water management planning, and NPDES Permit monitoring. Kaitlin graduated from Syracuse University in 2010 and joined LA YMF in 2011 as the University Outreach Coordinator.
Jinny Huang is a Professional Engineer with MWH, working in water resources planning and design for wet infrastructure projects. She attended Stanford University for her Master of Science in Environmental Engineering, and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for her Bachelors of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Jinny has been actively involved in ASCE since her freshmen year at UCLA. Jinny has continued her involvement in ASCE with MLAB YMF since 2007, and served as the P.E. Review Course Chair, Treasurer, and President-Elect. Jinny is currently serving as President for the Los Angeles Younger Member Forum (LA YMF).
