Hector
J. Bordas has worked approximately 18 years for the County
of Los Angeles Department of Public Works and for two years
as a Principal Civil Engineer with the City of Downey . With
the County he is currently responsible for the development
and implementation of funding strategies to address stormwater
quality regulations and for coordinating these activities
with stakeholders throughout Los Angeles County .
His past experience extends to managing infrastructure
projects from concept, design, consultant and contractor
selection and negotiation, through construction and project
acceptance. He has also managed Public Works’ Contracts
Administration Section, which is responsible for hiring
consultants and contractors for County infrastructure and
capital improvement programs. Hector has also managed the
public transit programs for County unincorporated communities.
Hector has a BS in Civil Engineering from California State
University at Long Beach and a BS in Biology from the University
of Southern California . |

Ciara is originally from Cork, Ireland and she moved to the United States in 1991. She is an Associate Civil Engineer for the Building and Safety Division of Los Angeles County, Dept. of Public Works. She is a plan check engineer currently working in the San Gabriel Valley District office. Her plan check experience includes residential and commercial construction of varying construction materials. Ciara obtained a Master?s Degree in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona.

For
the past 12 years, Edgar has been an employee of the Metropolitan
Water District of Southern California – a regional
water supplier for over 17 million people in southern California
. He is currently a Senior Environmental Specialist with
Metropolitan’s Water Quality Section where his duties
include coordination of legislative and regulatory policies
on drinking water quality. Some of Metropolitan’s primary
legislative focuses include the Safe Drinking Water Act,
the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act. Prior
to his employment with Metropolitan, Edgar was a staff engineer
with the State of California , Office of Drinking Water.
Edgar has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
from Long Beach State University . In addition to his duties
with Metropolitan, Edgar is an active member in the California-Nevada
Section of the American Water Works Association where he’s
chair of their Government Affairs Committee. He is also
a local board member of the American Society of Civil Engineer
and was recently named a member to their National Water
Policy Committee. |

Maria Lopez is an Associate Engineer with Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, where she is currently managing capital improvement projects related to treatment plants. Before joining Met in 2007, Ms. Lopez worked with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works and managed the development of projects along the Los Angeles River. In May 2005, she received recognition by the City of Los Angeles Council and Board of Public Works Commission for her role in Los Angeles River achievements.
Ms. Lopez is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She is a member of ASCE and serves as co-chair of the Programs Committee and Vice-Chair of the Water Resources Technical Committee for the Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch.
Stacie Takeguchi currently works for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California as an Associate Engineer, where her duties include performing analyses related to long-term facility planning and integrated water resource programs. Prior to her employment with Metropolitan, Stacie worked with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, managing innovative stormwater projects from concept through design and construction.
Stacie is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California. She obtained a Minor in Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Tulane University, located in New Orleans. Along with serving as co-chair of the Programs Committee, Stacie also is a Vice-Chair of the Water Resources Technical Committee for the Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch.

Julia Park is currently employed as a contractor to the Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo. She is an Analyst working on GPS Satellites. Her past experience includes working as an Aerospace Engineer on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for General Atomics. Julia received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California San Diego. She is also involved with American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, and Engineers Without Borders. She joined ASCE in 2007.

Herendira (Heren) Molina is a project engineer working in construction and project management for PPC Construction, Inc. in Eagle Rock. In 2005, she obtained her Civil Engineering degree from California State University, Northridge where she served as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter president and was part of the concrete canoe team (3 years) and student steel bridge team (2 years). After college she continued her involvement through the Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch (MLAB) Younger Member Forum (YMF) where she currently serves as Vice President.
As the MLAB K-12 Student Outreach Coordinator her goal is to plant an engineering seed in the minds of students who will one day grow to be the engineers of tomorrow.
