Maria L. Miranda, EIT |
Maria works as an Assistant Engineer for the City of Camarillo in the Public Works Land Development Section. Her professional experience for the last seven years has been focused in land development primarily in commercial development preparing grading, drainage, utility and street improvement plans. At her current job she plan checks and coordinates with the different departments, along with sub-consultants for proposed development projects in the city. Maria is a graduate from Cal Poly Pomona and she joined LA YMF in 2009 as the Co-chair for the PE Review Course. Maria is also an active member of Engineers Without Borders. |
Julia grew up in the Chicago suburb of Wheaton, IL. She completed undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering and
Spanish at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has worked as a Civil Engineering Associate for the
City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering since graduating in 2005. Julia currently serves as the Bureau's Liaison
to the City Council. Her hobbies include arts and crafts, karaoke, softball, and volunteering.
Marlon has been actively involved in ASCE since 1997.
He held a number of offices in the MLAB Younger Member Forum (YMF) including President.
He has also served as the YMF Liaison for the Los Angeles Section, Chair for the WRYMC 501(c)(6) Review Committee, and is an active member of the MLAB Government Affairs Committee.
Marlon is a construction manager for the City of Los Angeles, Bureau of Engineering.
Darwin Vargas is a Civil Engineering graduate of the California State Polytechnic University of Pomona.
He currently works for the California Department of Transportation as an Engineer with the Legal Division.
His background is in the design and construction of bridges.
He has previously interned for the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering and the Los Angeles Unified School District in their school construction and renovation bond program.
An active member of ASCE since his college days, he has continued his association with the society in the MLAB YMF, MLAB, and Government Affairs Committee.
