Karen is a civil engineer currently working in construction and project management for the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. She began her career as a roadway design and land development engineer and in construction management. Her work with ASCE includes formerly holding the offices of Vice President, Secretary and Student Activities Chair for the Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch. She also worked with Orange County Branch students as Conference Advisor. Karen continues to be heavily involved in the recruitment of young engineers to the profession through student outreach programs.

Noted accomplishments would include her work while earning her degree as project manager for California State University, Long Beach's (CSULB) regional first place student bridge for ASCE and the honor of Outstanding Baccalaureate of her graduating class of civil engineers for CSULB.
