ASCE Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch 2nd Annual Drive-In Friday, October 14th 2011 Los Angeles City Hall
Be a part of ASCE-MLAB?s 2nd Annual ?Drive-In? event at Los Angeles City Hall. Learn about public policy issues affecting the profession of civil engineering and how those issues can influence the public policy process. Meet your local city representatives, including your City Councilmembers, commissioners, and the Mayor.
The program includes:
- Briefing sessions on key issues active before the City Council and Board of Public Works
- Training on how to inform elected leaders
- Meetings with elected members of the City Council and County Supervisory Board
- Attendance at City Council Public Meetings
- Evening reception with elected officials and their staff members
The 2011 Drive-In will have a particular emphasis on infrastructure needs for the city and county of Los Angeles. All appointments will be made by MLAB. There are a limited number of slots available for in person meetings with officials, however all ASCE members are encouraged to attend the public meetings and make public comments.
There is no registration fee to attend the Drive-In, but participants are responsible for their own travel expenses. Please do not make travel arrangements prior to acceptance notification from ASCE MLAB.

Each attendee may be scheduled for 2 meetings - 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. ASCE-MLAB Installation & Awards Dinner (RSVP requested)
