MLAB's Project and Individual Award Recipients are formally recognized at our Annual Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch Awards Dinner. These Awards are selected from nominations made by the Younger Member Forum, Life Member Forum, Technical Groups, Committees, and individual members. All Award winners will be forwarded to the LA Section for consideration of an LA Section Award. Please join us for this wonderful celebration and recognition of the important contributions engineers make to enhance our communities and lives.
This award is given on the basis of the completion of a civil engineering project between June 1 of the previous year and May 30 of this year. This project shall exhibit innovative efforts and achievement over adverse conditions. The use of desirable sustainability practices and leading-edge engineering technologies in projects will merit supplemental consideration. Additional consideration criteria may include innovative approaches to funding, the use of advanced technologies and materials, and the immensity of the project.
A project can only be nominated once.
Only one project may receive the award in any year. However, the Awards Committee may present Honorable Mention awards.
Projects that include Innovative Sustainable or Advanced Technological approaches will be given additional points during project awards consideration.
For winning public agencies, the awards may also be presented at the respective agency’s City Council or Board Meeting.
