Salary: $117,540 - $150,015 (DOQ) and a competitive benefit package.

The City of Ridgecrest (pop. 29,000 in town/40,000 in the valley) is seeking an engaging, collaborative leader to be their next Public Works Director. The Director will plan, organize, manage, and direct the activities of the five divisions of the Public Works Department – Building, Engineering, Streets/Fleet, Transit, and Wastewater. The Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the City’s many Capital Improvement Projects, including a forth coming, state-of-the-art Wastewater Treatment Facility; the Bowman Channel Project; several street, sewer, communication, and streetlight infrastructure improvement projects; park improvements, and many more. A typical background would be eight years of progressively responsible Public Works maintenance, construction and contract experience, including or supplemented by four years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

Education:



A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major
course work in engineering, public administration, business administration or a related field is
required; a Master’s degree is preferred.



 

Professional Engineer License:



Registration as a Professional Engineer in California is desired.
