About the Event
The Northridge30 Symposium on Lifeline Infrastructure is being held in coordination with the Northridge30 program and the 2024 Le Val Lund Lecture on Lifeline Infrastructure and Community Resilience. The Symposium will be held from 1-4PM at the Michelson Hall on the USC Campus. The event will include a series with Lifeline Infrastucture System Organizations and attendance is free with registration. Full schedule to be provided soon.
Northridge 30 Program: The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Infrastructure Resilience Division, the ASCE Los Angeles Section, the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) Southern California Chapter, the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEOASC), and the Earthquake Country Alliance (ECA) are collaborating on a webinar series titled “The Northridge Earthquake – 30 Years Later, A Catalyst for Engineering Resilient Communities” as part of the year-long Northridge30 campaign, to recognize and remember the devastating event, commemorate the progress made over the past three decades, and identify next steps for improving the infrastructure and community resilience to earthquakes and other hazards. The program was initiated with a successful in-person Symposium at Caltech on January 17, 2024 (seaosc.org/Northridge30). The program includes a webinar series (recording found here: ECA website event page) and other special events like this lifeline infrastructure symposium.
Le Val Lund Lecture on Lifeline Infrastructure and Community Resilience: The ASCE Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch, University of Southern California, and California Institute of Technology host an annual lecture in honor of Le Val Lund. The lecture series initiated in 2015, alternating annually between USC and Caltech, and focusses on topics about different lifeline infrastructure systems and community resilience. More information and registration for the 2024 lecture is found at: https://www.ascemlab.org/event-details/6th-le-val-lund-lecture-on-lifeline-infrastructure-and-community-resilience
