The City of Salem is seeking candidates for multiple professional engineering positions in the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department: an Engineering Program Manager, 2 Senior Project Managers and 2 Project Managers.
The Assistant City Engineer Position is an advanced professional and administrative position reporting directly to the City Engineer. The position performs a full range of civil engineering project and program development, managing a team of professional and technical staff that delivers public infrastructure projects through planning, budgeting, design, and construction. The Assistant City Engineer is responsible for developing and monitoring program budgets, providing supervision and leadership to project managers, implementing, and managing policies and procedures, proactively identifying, and resolving project challenges and obstacles, overseeing, and participating in consultant selection, and preparing reports and recommendations.
Ten or more years of experience in a related field; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the class.
Must pass the pre-employment background check.
Must have valid driver license and meet the City of Salem's driving standards.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Professional Civil Engineer License within the State of Oregon required with 12 months of hire.
