Job Description:
The City of Simi Valley is recruiting two Assistant Public Works Directors as a result of one retirement and the establishment of a second Assistant Director position. One Assistant Director will be responsible for engineering and environmental compliance; the second will be responsible for waterworks operations, sanitation operations, and maintenance operations.

Qualifications:
Five years of increasingly responsible public works experience (including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility), an equivalent to a bachelor's degree with major coursework in engineering, public administration, business administration, or a related field, strong management skills, and the ability to communicate/present to City Councils, Planning Commissions, Neighborhood Organizations, etc.

Operations:
Extensive knowledge and experience in public works operations such as waterworks, sanitation/wastewater, and maintenance. Possession of registration as a professional engineer in the State of California is desirable.

Engineering and Environmental Compliance:
Extensive knowledge and experience in public works engineering and environmental compliance (stormwater, pre-treatment, HHW and solid waste, water conservation). Possession of registration as a professional engineer in the State of California is required.
